However, the Kråkstad parish records do contain some helpful information. First of all they have a record of the 1738 betrothal [troevolede] and marriage [copulerede] of Svend Thoreson Vaal to Kari Amundsdtr Glenne.

It gives the date of their betrothal as 30 Sep 1738 and their marriage as 12 Nov of the same year. Digitalarkivet also has the death records for Svend and Kari.

The record for Svend Thoressen Waal gives his death as 25 Aug 1782 at 70 years of age. That would make the year of his birth c. 1712. Notice that two entries below Svend's is an entry for a Svend Vebjørnsen Vaal who died on 15 Sep only 14 days old. This baby was the elder Svend's grandson, a younger brother of Webjørn Webjørnsen Waal.

The record for Kari Amundsdtr Waal gives the date for her death as 30 Mar 1786 and says she was 68 years old. That would make the year of her birth c. 1718.
